Tech Overview
From BLWiki
We here at Blue Line would like to give our customers a sense of euphoria as they read the technical jargon listed below. We will give some background on our datacenters, networks, servers and software. If you're looking to see if we support some particular software or script, this is the article to read.

DataCenters
One of the most important decisions for any hosting company that wishes to deliver high performance and reliable hosting to their client base is the datacenter. Blue Line Web Solutions has moved from one data center to the next over the past couple of years to find the best one to suite our customers needs. With that said, we've chosen two geographically diverse facilities to house our infrastructure.
- Fully power- and environmentally-conditioned raised floor data center.
- Multiple independent fiber optic providers for very high bandwidth solutions.
- Internet services are provided to our customers over fully redundant OC3c (155Mbps) and Gigabit connections to XO, Level(3), and UUnet.
- True "Five 9s" mission-critical Tier IV data center standards.
- Service is scalable from 1U to full cabinets/racks and cages.
- Facility centrally located to the region.
- On-site 24/7 security personnel.
- You can access your hardware 24/7.
- Ability to scale to meet large space and high density power requirements.
DC#1 - Sacramento, CA
Features:
- 10,500 square foot raised-floor colocation space
- Backup power diesel generator (1,000 kilowatt, redundant Onan Cummins generator)
- UPS AC and DC under-floor power to all cabinets
- N+1 power and cooling designs
- Multiple Carrier providers to data center
- Multiple egress connections throughout California network
- Dual redundant core routers on OC-3 ring, connecting all three egress cores in same configuration
- Dual redundant border routers offering HSRP redundant connections
- MPLS circuit and colocation connection offerings available
- 24x7 network monitoring and notification
- Multiple redundant Optical Carrier (OC) connections
- Dual 500 kVA PowerWare UPS systems
DC#2 - Los Angeles, CA
Features:
- 55,000 sq foot facility is constructed in such a manner to withstand earthquake and extreme weather conditions
- Our own quarter-rack.
- Gigabit connectivity.
- 100% Cisco powered network
- Outside enterance into the facility is restricted using a highly secure 128 bit key card system.
- Staffed 24x7
Server Equipment
Almost all of our server equipment is utilzing GREEN IT practices. Wherever possible we try to save the environment by reducing our carbon emmissions by purchasing and installing energy efficient components as well as optional onboard real-time power monitoring capabilities that can help reduce unnecessary power consumption. All of our equipment is fully redundant. This includes dual power supplies, dual network cards, dual cpu's, etc.

Software
* We are a LAMP-based web host (Linux Apache MySQL PHP). We heavily tweak the service configuration on our servers for optimal performance and load reduction. From custom kernels to tweaked config files for MySQL, our server administrators know what works for the job at hand.
We maintain a record of both supported and non-supported scripting languages for our client base. This list can and does evolve, but is a good reference point. Should you have a specific requirement, we encourage you to contact our friendly support staff before you make any decisions or assumptions. Often one language can be used in place of another, or a better solution may be available.
Supported Scripting Languages
We support the following:
- PHP 4.x
- PHP 5.x
- MySQL 4.x
- MySQL 5.x
- Perl
- Ruby On Rails
Unsupported Scripting Languages
We DO NOT Support the following:
- Java
